Who we are

Clever Clogs Books is a niche, start-up publishing house, focused on the production of African-themed children's picture books for early readers. Our books and events such as the Akada Children's Book Festival, inspire, excite and entertain child, parents and teachers. We desire to see Nigeria attain a hundred percent literacy rate and we believe that this is possible in our lifetime.
Our contribution towards this goal is to efficiently run a business that produces beautifully-illustrated children’s picture books that excite and inspire children, parents and teachers. This is also why we organize the Akada Children’s Book Festival, which is arguably Nigeria’s first children focused book festival.

Our Team

OLUBUNMI ABODERIN-TALABI - Founding Publisher

Olubunmi is an author, founding publisher at Clever Clogs Books and the convener of the Akada Children’s Book Festival. Her published works include: Tobi Visits The Conservatory; Kob the Antelope; Diary of a Toddler and Why Do You Wash Your Hands? is scheduled for release in 2019.
She has served on the board of Punch Nigeria Limited, publishers of the highest circulating English language, daily national newspaper in Nigeria, since 1994. Olubunmi worked at the company for eight years as the Executive Director, Business Development and New Projects. She was also the first Managing Director for the startup Punch Commercial Printing, a subsidiary of Punch Nigeria Limited.
Olubunmi is the current Executive Council Chairperson of Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) and is also the Chairperson, Board of Trustees, of the OA Foundation. Olubunmi is a member of the Institute of Directors Nigeria; the Corporate Governance Society of Nigeria and the Harvard Business School Alumni Association of Nigeria.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from City University London, and is also a graduate of the General Management Program at Harvard Business School as well as the Advanced Management & Leadership Program at Oxford University Said Business School.



DEBRA-LOVE AISIDA - Director

Debra-Love is a Principal Consultant at Toba Adept Services, a management-consulting outfit that assists SMEs to increase effectiveness, and automate their human resource & business processes. She has had over 15 years’ experience in corporate administration and organization.
A member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, the Institute of Chartered Administrators & Secretaries as well as a Director at Clever Clogs Ltd. Her strength lies in organizing and planning concepts for start-up projects and conducting training in Professional Ethics. She graduated with Bachelors of Science in Industrial Chemistry at the University of Ibadan, and a Postgraduate degree in Mass Communication at the University of Lagos.
She is also a producer, writer and inspirational poet.
